报告人简介：

Prof. Yalin Lu graduated from Nanjing University, P. R. China, with a PhD inSolid State Physics in 1991. He became an Associate Professor in both Physics and Materials Science Departments in 1992. He joined Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and the University of California at Berkeley Chemistry Department in 1996 as a Visiting Professor, then Tufts University in 1997 as a Research Assistant Professor in the Electro-Optics Technology Center (EOTC), and initiated extensive research in several key technology areas, including combinatorial material research, quasi-phase matching (QPM) optics/nonlinear optical materials, laser/fiber laser optics, ferroelectric thin film materials/transparent ceramics, nanoelectronics, nanophotonics, metamaterials, terahertz (THz) components, thermoelectric nanomaterials, etc. Dr. Lu joined Corning Inc. as Sr. Staff Scientist/Project Manager in 2000 because of a successful company merge, and was recruited to Thermo Electron Corp. as Sr. Scientist/R&D Director in the Photonics Division in 2001. In 2003 he joined the US Air Force Academy (USAFA) Physics Department as Senior Research Scientist, and then in 2005 
the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) adjunct faculty in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
