报告摘要:
I will review the physics, materials, and applications of giant magnetoresistance effect, and present our recent work on MgO-based magnetic tunneling junctions whose magnetoresistance exceeding 200% at room temperature and low field. MgO based magnetic tunneling junctions represent a major breakthrough in spintronics where electron spin plays a major role in the operation of electronics. I will discuss a few examples of our effort in applying spintronics to metrology, magnetic sensing,and spintronic immunoassay.
